The goals of the ‘Work in Poland’ programme are achieved by developing analytical support for providing and spreading knowledge needed by NGOs to implement effective actions for their beneficiaries on the labour market, with particular emphasis on wage-earning emigration.

The following reports have been developed as a result of programme activities, drawing on the work of a team of experts and analysis of available materials:

--> Report on the issue of unemployment, focusing on the aspect of emigration (with particular emphasis on the situation of young people and residents and rural areas and small towns). The preliminary study Contemporary Foreign Migration by Poles: Scale, Structure and Potential Effects on the Labour Market (Współczesne migracje zagraniczne Polaków - skala, struktura i potencjalne skutki dla rynku pracy), by Dr Paweł Kaczmarczyk from the Centre of Migration Research at the University of Warsaw, serves as a basis for further work.

--> Report Contemporary Migration Processes in Poland and the Activity of Non-Governmental Organisations in Fields Tied to the Labour Market (Współczesne procesy migracyjne w Polsce a aktywność organizacji pozarządowych w obszarach powiązanych z rynkiem pracy), edited by Paweł Kaczmarczyk and Joanna Tyrowicz, issued in January 2008.

--> Report concerning diagnosis of the capabilities and needs of NGOs active on the labour market, assessing their potential and the competencies of their staff, particularly in the use of modern working methods (including IT). The report New Technology in Non-Governmental Organisations (Nowe technologie w organizacjach pozarządowych) was written by Agnieszka Bojanowska.

--> Study providing examples of methods and tools using IT in activities on the labour market, with particular emphasis on experiences in other countries.

--> The FISE Library of Best Practices – case studies of projects using modern technology to carry out actions in the labour market area, in Poland and abroad

--> FISE Bulletins – brief reports on the most pressing current issues related to the labour market and NGOs. Bulletins are one of a series published by the Foundation for Social and Economic Initiatives devoted to the issue of the labour market in Poland. Electronic editions of the bulletins may be found at the website www.bezrobocie.org.pl.
